I have a strong Type A personality that likes to plan so I always meet or talk with couples about a month before their wedding to go through the timeline, portrait requests, and make a plan A (and B) to ensure I can get all the photos each couple wants. So working with other brides and couples that are equally organized is great – and Bree was one fabulously organized bride! It’s always tricky planning an outdoor wedding, since you also have to plan a rain backup, and Bree and I worked together to create two great plans and got a beautiful warm & sunny day for her outdoor wedding ceremony at Chippokes State Park so we were able to go with our preferred Plan A. Plus, she had the foresight to hire a wedding coordinator so she could relax a little on her big day and let someone else organize things.
All of our planning really paid off, I was able to get some great photos including a shot of their ceremony kiss from behind them (not a position I usually get) and at the end of the night of her sparkler exit outside the Smithfield Center from on top of a 12 foot ladder! I’m willing to do a lot for my couples to get great photos and having two beautiful locations allowed for us to get great romantic & candid photos throughout the day and I can’t wait to share almost 700 with everyone next week!
This was my first wedding at Chippokes State Park – BEAUTIFUL for summer weddings!!! But I have been a preferred wedding photographer at the Smithfield Center for a few years (yes, that is my photo on their business cards 😉 so of course I love it as a wedding venue and was excited to be back.
HUGE thanks to all the other fabulous vendors I worked with that day that helped manage the organized chaos and keep the party moving on schedule!!
