| We have been photographers most of our lives - and we love it! After working as a newspaper staff photographer for 8 years, Heather left that industry to run HHP full time and photographs everything from newborns to weddings and feature articles for magazines all over the country. Rob continues to work full time at the newspaper and spends a lot of his nights on sports fields all over Hampton Roads, photographing a handful of weddings each year. How We Work As experienced photojournalists we know the right questions to ask to know what is happening when & will be in the best spots to capture the fleeting moments as they happen. We know how to capture all the fun & excitement while blending in with your friends & family so you barely notice we're there. And we always get great photos without taking forever to get them or by limiting you to locations, outfits, or poses. We excel at capturing not just the split second moments, but your personalities and love for one another in carefully composed artistic photographs. We work hard to be everywhere, all the time, while blending into the background so we don't distract or interrupt events (earning us a "ninja" reputation). During portrait sessions we are quick to put everyone at ease and strive to keep it fun for all ages by allowing kids to play instead of forcing them to smile - because then smiles just happen! We know how to work with even the most camera shy & are super easy to get along with by incorporating your wish list along with our vision. Why Work With Us You will love working with us because we keep it fun! We build a relationship with you that stretches well beyond the wedding day or portrait session (many of our baby portrait clients were wedding clients just a few years before) and that is just as priceless to us as your photos. Most of the time, you will be working with Heather since she does most of the weddings and all of the portraits but Rob is available as a second wedding photographer and serves as a amazing backup system should anything ever happen (never has, knock-on-wood ;) We do recommend you have two skilled photographers if you have over 200 guests or special circumstances where you would want us in two places at the same time. And in the case that you want double coverage & one of us isn't available, we have a select pool of extremely talented newspaper & wedding photographers (and friends) with years of experience that we can hire to join us.
