Providence Hall House Wedding – Williamsburg, VA
I love black and white photography and incorporate it into every wedding and portrait I photograph. Color can be distracting (like a red trash can) or distract you from the moment that was captured.
And the color was SO perfect and SO beautiful for Carolyn and Michael’s Providence Hall House wedding that I didn’t want to change very many photos for this wedding.
I have been fortunate enough to photograph a few wedding receptions at the Providence Hall House, owned and rented by the Williamsburg Inn, and as my first garden wedding ceremony there I have to HIGHLY recommend it if you are looking for an small & intimate Williamsburg wedding venue.
My day started a little differently, with the guys at the Williamsburg Lodge instead of the ladies, and then I met the ladies at the Providence Hall House after doing a few portraits with the groomsmen. Michael got ready in record time, putting me ahead of schedule and allowing a little extra time for detail photos of the flowers and wedding dress that were waiting for me at Providence Hall.
It was a beautiful day for a wedding, complete with a fiddler and bagpiper, and we had the perfect weather for the outdoor reception.
Being an earlier wedding, the luncheon was more social without any dancing and instead we had several heartfelt toasts from the father of the bride, Carolyn’s sister and matron of honor, and Micheal’s best man. And since it was still daylight when it came time for their grand exit, I helped to organize a simple wave goodbye on the front steps as the happy newlyweds left for the Williamsburg Inn.
A truly perfect wedding day.
