On a beautiful September day, Toni and Anderson were wed. They had a heartfelt ceremony at the Bethlehem Baptist Church and a wedding reception at the Dominion Club in Richmond, Virginia. Such a wonderfully kind and loving couple, it was a true pleasure to be their wedding photographer.
Toni and Anderson’s Dominion Club Wedding
The day of Toni and Anderson’s wedding was a simply beautiful fall day in Richmond. The autumn sky was a perfect blue. At the beginning of the day, my second shooter, Buddy was there so we could get coverage of both Anderson and Toni getting ready. This beautiful bride was surrounded by love and help on her special day. Shamara, one of her bridesmaids, helped a TON by stepping in as the event planner. Toni’s aunt actually made the bridesmaids bouquets, and to thank the bridesmaids for being a part of her day, each one was given a gorgeous brooch for their bridesmaids’ dresses.
I surprised Toni with my ‘Wedding Day Survival Kit’ when I arrived early to start the day. It was a good thing, too, because the sewing kit came in handy for fixing one of the bridesmaid’s dresses! As a wedding photographer, it’s so important to be prepared for anything—even being a seamstress when the need arises! The ladies all looked amazing, but Toni’s smile was electric. She glowed with happiness all day long.
Bethlehem Baptist Church Wedding Ceremony
Toni and Anderson had their ceremony at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. One of my favorite moments was when Anderson first saw Toni as she walked down the aisle. He was overwhelmed with emotion and tears ran down his face. It was an “ugly cry” but so beautifully tender in the moment. The love these two have for each other is so visible, it made my job as their wedding photographer easy! And at the end of the ceremony, the bride and groom jumped over a broom. One of my favorite traditions!
The Bethlehem Baptist Church has a stunning pipe organ. It made for a beautiful backdrop for formal wedding portraits. From there, we took advantage of the beautiful fall weather for some outdoor portraits of the bride and groom- now husband and wife.
Dominion Club Wedding Photography
The Dominion Club is well-known for being an excellent Richmond wedding venue. In fact, it was recently inducted into The Knot’s hall of Fame for being voted the best wedding venue in Richmond again and again. And, with its elegant décor, it’s no surprise. This wedding actually maxed out the capacity at 250 guests, but it was clear how much every person present loved the bride and groom.
Toni and Anderson made a grand entrance into their reception down the sweeping staircase. They were met with cheers as they took to the dance floor for the first time as man and wife. There were so many heartfelt toasts at this reception. I actually teared up! This wedding was steeped in love, a true family event.
Thank you so much, Toni and Anderson. It was so wonderful to be your wedding photographer. I hope you both had an amazing honeymoon in Cancun! Thank you, also, to their wonderful Richmond wedding vendors: DJ Charles Alexander, Sweet Fix cake, Liza Spivey and of course the amazing team at The Dominion Club.
