On September 28th, James and Michele were wed in a gorgeous fall wedding at the Historic Jasmine Plantation in Providence Forge, VA. I loved being the wedding photographer for this sweet celebration of love.
Michele & James’ Historic Jasmine Plantation Wedding
Michele and James first met at Virginia Tech. They are both engineers, and they wanted to create a warm, homey feeling for their wedding. The Historic Jasmine Plantation was the perfect fit for them! With covered porches lined with rocking chairs, charming gardens, and acres of lush Virginia land, it’s the perfect setting for a beautiful event. I loved how Michele and James made the plantation their own with so many personalized touches, like wine glasses for the bridesmaids, the groomsmen’s socks and the bride’s personalized robe. Small details like these are so much fun to photograph!
There were so many lovely, memorable moments at this wedding. Michele wore her grandmother’s ring along with her own, which I thought was such a nice way to honor her. When she was ready, Michele and her dad had a first look. I love father-daughter first looks! It never fails to be such an emotional moment when a father first sees his little girl all grown up!
I staged a first look between Michele and James outside the plantation where they exchanged letters. They did so without seeing each other, holding hands just out of sight from one another around a corner. I loved to be able to see their reactions to the letters before they actually saw each other. It was just so sweet. All day, the way these two adored each other was so evident. I loved photographing them together!
Fall Wedding Photography
Michele and James had a beautiful day for their wedding. It was perfect weather for an outdoor wedding ceremony! The sky was that perfect September blue. After the ceremony, we took portraits of the bride, groom and wedding party all around the Historic Jasmine Plantation property. There are so many great backdrops for wedding photos at Jasmine!
The Historic Jasmine Plantation hosts many of their receptions in a stunning outdoor tent. It was decorated with thousands of twinkling lights, creating a romantic look. Once it got started, this wedding reception was such a celebration! Everyone had a great time on the dance floor—especially the bride and groom. They had taken dance lessons and you could tell!
I always love a sparkler exit. I reminded the groom to pause during their exit, and they pulled off a deep, romantic dip perfectly!
Michele and James, thank you so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer for your sweet Historic Jasmine Plantation wedding. I was so happy to be a part of your special day!
