I absolutely loved Cindy and Fred’s intimate winter wedding at MOCA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach, VA and being back at one of my favorite Virginia Beach venues.
Fred & Cindy’s MOCA Wedding
Fred and Cindy were a bit older than my typical wedding couple, and they were so in love! But they were also leading VERY busy lives outside of planning their wedding — including selling their old home and building a new one! Their wedding coordinator, Ally did so much to help these two out, and not just on the day of the wedding! She was indispensable throughout the entire wedding planning process and you could really feel the love and care she had for making this wedding go off without a hitch.
Since this wedding was in the middle of winter and at night, we shot a few bridal portraits in Cindy’s hotel room using the beach balcony view. I was able to capture some amazing photos, even for winter! We also grabbed a few portraits by one of my favorite staircases at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront hotel where they were staying. It’s always a plus when I know a venue from previous work — I knew exactly where to go when we had an extra five minutes for portraits.
Rodriguez Pavilion at the Museum of Contemporary Art
Both the ceremony and reception were held in the gorgeous Rodriguez Pavilion. This area of the museum is perfect for wedding events, featuring live trees and a beautiful 16-foot Dale Chihuly Chandelier. We made sure to snag portraits under the chandelier after the ceremony.
Afterward, it was time for the reception dinner and a bit of light dancing. It was wonderful seeing these two so relaxed after finally tying the knot! But we made sure to end the night on the dance floor!
Fred and Cindy, thank you so much for letting me photograph your special day. You two have incredible souls and I wish you nothing but happiness for years to come!
