I enjoy trying new things and stretching my artistic vision so, when high school seniors Lazuli, Jessica, Clayton and Trey asked me to capture their senior portraits, I jumped at the opportunity!
And with just 4 high school seniors, I got to try a few new locations in and around coastal VA; including Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown Beach and Ft. Monroe in Hampton – and am now excited to offer the HHP Senior Experience.
Senior Portrait Photography Sessions Near Hampton, VA
Lazuli and I met at the York High School job fair last year. She ended up interning with me as my assistant at weddings and other portrait shoots, carrying lights and doing an all-around fantastic job. She enjoyed the experience so much that she asked me to photograph her senior portrait session in the fall. She loves photography and is strongly considering it as a career. I’m super proud of her and I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Jessica has been dancing since she was little, and plays softball for West Point High School. There was no way we weren’t going to work in some of her athleticism into her spring portrait session! I love the shot we got of her dancing on Yorktown Beach. She’s a wonderful young woman and I just know she’s going to do great things!
Clayton missed his senior portrait day at school and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze in his summer Senior Portrait Session (try saying that 5 times fast) before he set off for boot camp. I’m extremely honored he chose me for his senior portraits and thankful for the commitment he’s made to our country. I wish him all the best.
Trey remembers me photographing him during my days as a staff photographer at the Daily Press — just over 10 years ago! We were doing a story on his dad being deployed and his mom still has the newspaper article hanging on the wall. It was a true pleasure seeing him again. He’s put a lot of work and energy into fixing up his Jeep and he was very proud to show it off during his portrait session. In the shot of him leaning up against it, he looks like he ready to take on the world and I can’t wait to see what he does!

High School senior sessions with HHP are outdoor portrait sessions centered around your interests and personal fashion. My goal is to incorporate not only your favorite outfits but also what you love to do! So, whether you’re an athlete, musician, or simply love the outdoors, I’m here to help you pick the best locations that will reflect who you are.
The day of the session, I like to bring an assistant to help carry lights, extra clothes, and an optional changing tent, which can set up anywhere for total privacy. I also have a great deal with an AMAZING local makeup artist if you want to have the ultimate pampering experience for your senior session.
My Senior Experience is like no other photography experience around! Nothing is off limits and each one is personalized to create unique portraits you (and mom) will love looking at for the next 10, 20, or even 30 years. Plus, thanks to my time as a newspaper staff photographer, I know Hampton Roads inside and out, so you aren’t limited to the same locations you have seen everyone else using.
